LinguaNext Announces Indify™ Solutions for Indian Market

Use SAP and Oracle in any of the 22 official Indian languages

LinguaNext, the global leader in language localization solutions has announced two solutions specific to the Indian market. The solutions are “Indify™ SAP®” and “Indify™ Oracle®”, both enable the target software, SAP ERP and Oracle E-Business Suite respectively, to be used entirely in Indian languages. All 22 official Indian languages are supported by the Indify™ products.

Indify enables users to use SAP or Oracle completely in local language. The Indify products work transparently, and do not require any changes to the original SAP or Oracle products. The Indify functionality is so comprehensive, that when using SAP or Oracle with Indify, users are entirely unaware that the original software does not support Indian languages. Users can operate all screens entirely in Indian languages and take any printout in Indian languages. Installing Indify is very easy, as it does not impact the underlying SAP or Oracle implementation. Indify works even if the SAP or Oracle have been customized. Indify works with new or existing installations of SAP & Oracle.

E-governance projects are taking off all over India at the Central, State and local government levels. The combined expenditure on e-governance projects is likely to exceed Rs. 22,500 Crores over the next two years. This very large investment is necessary to make the government more efficient and only world-class products – most popularly SAP and Oracle – seem to have all the functionality required.

E-governance makes IT so widespread that everyone dealing with the government will be forced to become an IT user. So every government employee, every vendor and any citizen who requires government services would likely have to use IT to get their work done. However, since less than 10% of India’s population speaks English, this IT capability will have to be in Indian languages in order for any e-governance project to be successful. However, since the popular e-governance products such as SAP and Oracle don’t support Indian languages, e-governance investments on such a large scale could go waste if they were offered only in English, since a lot of users (employees as well as citizans) wouldn’t understand what is shown on the screen or printed out.
